Food Services

Welcome

The Kirkwood School District's Food Service Operation is modeled to be financially self-sustaining with the goal to breakeven.  It is the District's goal to ensure that all students have access to fairly-priced, quality, safe, nutritious, tasty, and balanced meals which meet or exceed the USDA guidelines.

We’re excited to welcome students to the cafeteria each school year! You can find a quick look at what you and your child can expect, including what’s available in the cafeteria, meal pricing details, how to apply for free or reduced-price meals, our approach to managing food allergies (including required documentation), and a preview of the new recipes, meal concepts, and programs.

Delicious, Nutritious Foods Kids Love

Chartwells Logo

Our team of chefs and dietitians at Chartwells is introducing even more variety to our menus this year, featuring new kid-approved recipes and continuing to offer consistent favorites. All items served meet USDA National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), and Smart Snack guidelines.

Elementary students can choose from 3 entrees daily, including a daily sunbutter and jelly sandwich. Meals come with low-fat white or flavored milk and a variety of fresh and prepared fruits and vegetables.

In middle and high schools, students will have 7-10 entrée options each day, also including vegetarian selections, plus fruits, vegetables, and milk.
