Senior Sinks Basket for 1,000th Point

On Tuesday, January 15, Kirkwood High School (KHS) senior Damien Loyd scored his 1,000th varsity point in the fourth quarter during a basketball game against Marquette High School.

Damien is a three-year varsity player for the Pioneers and earned All-State selection during the 2017-18 season as a junior.

Damien is the son of Shiela and Michael Loyd.

Coach Gunn Earns 300th Win

On Monday, January 21, KHS Head Basketball Coach Bill Gunn earned his 300th win as a head coach against Northwest High School. Prior to coaching at KHS, Gunn served as head coach at Northwest High School, Hillsboro, and Cuba.
