Kirkwood High School Students Receive Awards at Statewide Art Exhibition
Kirkwood High School art students received awards at the Missouri State University’s Virtual Juried Exhibition for High School Art and Design Students.
KHS junior Keegan Meister’s artwork “Reclaimed by Nature” and “Threatened Stance” both received Merit Awards.
KHS senior Jackson Politte’s artwork received Second Place and Honorable Mention. His piece “Mankind Clawing” earned Second Place Award and a $3000.00 scholarship to Missouri State. His piece “Man, Watched” was selected as Honorable Mention.
KHS senior Will Tyrrell’s artwork “untitled” and “untitled” both received Honorable Mention Awards.
Their artwork will be included in the Missouri State University’s Virtual Juried Exhibition for High School Art and Design Students. Over 500 works were submitted and reviewed by jurors, each one independently, and scores were compiled and averaged to determine the results. The exhibition provides students an opportunity to participate in a competitive, juried summer exhibition, and provide a platform for their work to be displayed in a college venue.
The exhibit opens virtually June 1, 2023 at https://art-design.missouristate.edu/exhibit/brickcity/.
All three students are in Jason Hoeing’s AP 3D Art and Design class.
