Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at Keysor Elementary School
On Thursday, Oct. 27, the Kirkwood School District (KSD) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Keysor Elementary School. In attendance were KSD school board members, school and district staff, Keysor students and parents, and community members.
The ceremony celebrated the completion of construction at Keysor Elementary School. This includes a new secure, ADA accessible vestibule on the North side of the building, the addition of two ADA accessible restrooms and renovations to improve safety and accessibility in the school nurse’s office.
"It’s fitting that October is Disability History Month in Missouri. One of the goals of the month is to ensure full inclusion of people with disabilities," said Dr. David Ulrich, Superintendent. "Thanks to Prop R, we made several improvements here at Keysor that are aligned with that objective."
The project is one of many made possible thanks to the community’s support of Prop R, which was approved by voters in April 2021. Funds generated from Prop R will provide additional classrooms, security upgrades and accessibility improvements at all schools in the Kirkwood School District to address overcrowding.
