KHS Class of 2018 Get a 24.0 Composite Score on ACT Slight Bump from Previous Year
The Kirkwood High School (KHS) 2018 graduates posted an average of 24.0 on the ACT college entrance exam, a bump from 23.8 the year before. Students made gains in English, Math and Reading:
2017 English 23.9 Math 22.9 Reading 24.3 Science 23.5 Composite 23.8
2018 English 24.0 Math 23.2 Reading 24.8 Science 23.4 Composite 24.0
KHS graduates scored 4 points higher than the state composite score of 20.0. The national average is 20.8. The highest possible score on the test is 36.
KHS had 430 graduates take the ACT in 2018.
ACT also reported the College Readiness Benchmark Score, which reflects the lowest scores students can score on the ACT subject level test and be considered “college ready.” These scores are:
18 on ACT English Test
22 on ACT Mathematics Test
22 on ACT Reading Test
23 on ACT Science Test
Fifty percent of 2018 KHS graduates met or exceeded benchmark scores. This is up 5% from 2017 KHS graduates who reported forty-five percent ready. The state level is twenty-two percent of 2018 graduates.
