Kirkwood High School Students Selected for 2024 Missouri All-State Band and Orchestra


Of the more than 1,400 students from all over Missouri who auditioned for All-State Band and Orchestra, the 108 selected included several KHS students. Auditions were held at Hickman High School in Columbia. 


The band and orchestra will meet, rehearse, and perform at the Missouri Music Educators Association Conference. The only performance of the Missouri All-State Band and Orchestra will be January 24, 2024 in Room "Paradise A" of the Lake of the Ozarks Tan-Tar-A Resort. Performances are open to the public, but tickets are required and are available at the door.

Emily Royalty - Alternate Bassoon

Althea Althauser - Alternate Trombone

*Elizabeth Myers was selected alternate bassoon her freshman year and has been selected for bassoon her sophomore, junior and senior year.


The 2023 -2024 Missouri All-State Band will be conducted by Colonel Don Schofield. Colonel Don Scofield is the commander and conductor of the United States Air Force Band.

The 2023 - 2024 All-State Orchestra will be conducted by Dr. Soo Han. Dr. Han is the newly appointed Director of Orchestral Studies at Reva and Dew Berry Family School of Music at George Mason University, Music Director of the Elkhart County Symphony Orchestra, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Midwest International Band and Orchestra Clinic.
