Updated Safety Mitigations start June 1, 2020

After reviewing the updated guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), KSD will now follow DESE’s recommendations moving forward. This decision is based on reviewing KSD’s internal data along with regional data related to the spread of COVID.

As we continue to transition through the pandemic, we need to be considerate of students’ and staff members’ privacy related to their individual decisions about getting the vaccine. The Missouri School Immunization Requirements do not include the COVID vaccination.

Changes are effective June 1, 2021.

  • Indoors everyone wears a mask while students are present or in a general area such as hallways, restrooms, etc.

    • This safety mitigation measure significantly reduces the need for quarantining students or staff

  • Outdoors masks are optional for both students and staff members

  • Self-screening for students and staff should continue

  • Daily COVID update will stop after Wednesday, May 26
