KSD Celebrates National School Social Work Week
Beacon of Hope: School Social Workers – Lighting the Way” is our theme for School Social Work Week 2021. This theme is incredibly fitting for 2020-2021 school year. Thank you Kirkwood School District Social Work Team for supporting our students, families and staff. School Social Workers are able to light the way, emphasizing the whole child, collaborating with other professionals, linking students and families with needed services, and advocating for the social work profession.
School social workers emphasize the whole student and provide the social-emotional support that our students need to achieve academically. Additionally, school social workers help families find and access community supports and resources including organizing and facilitating the KSD NOW food program.
Thank you for helping house those who are unsheltered, counsel those who are distressed, advocate for social justice issues, research best-practices, protect the vulnerable, inform the government, normalize mental health, empower students and so much more.
Please join us in celebrating our fantastic team during “National School Social Worker Week!” We hope you have a successful School Social Work Week 2021! #BeaconofHope #SSWWeek2021
