Robinson Student Artwork Selected for Capitol
Students across the state submitted a work of art as part of the Missouri Art Education Association/Missouri Alliance for Arts Education (MAEA/MAAE) Missouri Senate Art Competition. Robinson 5th grader student Lillian Horrom’s artwork was selected to represent District 15 in the Capitol. Lillian is a student in April Maldonado’s art class.
For the competition, student artwork images were submitted and organized by the 34 districts in Missouri. Each district selected one student artwork and the artwork is framed and displayed throughout the year at the Missouri Capitol to advocate legislator support for the arts. District 15 Senator Andrew Koening and representatives from MAAE and MAEA selected Lillian’s art as the winning piece to represent this part of Missouri.
The MAEA Senate Show, and Youth Art Month awards program help serve the organization’s mission of providing meaningful art experiences for all by celebrating and encouraging exemplary work in the field. For receiving this honor, Lillian was invited to participate in a celebration at the Missouri state capitol.
