Kirkwood High School in the Kirkwood School District is recognized as a 2021-22 Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Distinguished High School for providing broad access to transformative learning opportunities for students through its PLTW programs. 

Kirkwood High School is one of 191 PLTW high school programs in the country to receive recognition this year.

KHS has historically been a leader in PLTW curriculum. Increased enrollment and the need for greater capacity has recently effected the ability to expand PLTW at KHS. Upcoming construction projects at KHS, made possible by the passage of Prop R, will allow an expansion of PLTW classes and will continue the good work and provide KHS students knowledge and in-demand skills for 21st-century careers, regardless of what career path they pursue.
