North Kirkwood Middle School Student Wins Kirkwood Public Library’s 2021 Teen Micro Fiction Writing Contest
Abby Monroe, eighth-grade student at North Kirkwood Middle School, is the first place winner in the Kirkwood Public Library 2021 Teen Micro Fiction Writing Contest. For the contest, students submitted a story 500 words or less. Abby’s story, “A Family I know Isn’t Mine,” won first place.
According to Melissa Richardson, Abby’s eighth-grade language arts teacher at NKMS, Abby has a knack for writing. “Abby is great at developing characters and other worlds in her writing,” said Richardson. “She is also great at nailing that perfect "last line."
