Welcome to F.P. Tillman Elementary School! Centrally located in historic Kirkwood, Missouri, Tillman is one of five elementary schools within Kirkwood School District (KSD). In 2018, KSD was one of just a handful of districts in the state to receive a perfect score of 100% on the Missouri Schools Improvement Program Annual Performance Report (APR). APR scores measure overall academic achievement, subgroup achievement, college and career readiness, attendance, and graduation rates.
Tillman Elementary is characterized by relationships of mutual respect among all 500+ members of the learning community. A committed staff focuses on fostering success for each student through individualized instruction. The building, along with several acres of surrounding green space, serve as a community hub for neighbors from all walks of life. Tillman is one of the few true “neighborhood schools” around. It is not uncommon to see families walking to and from school together, playing on the playground, or gathering after school hours and on the weekend.
Parents are highly engaged and support the school staff in promoting success for all students, helping to make Tillman a joyful place to learn and grow. Within the school culture,Tillman has several long-standing traditions/activities that make it a special place for families to “grow-up” together including: Fallapolooza Fall Fest, Halloween Parade, Veterans Day Celebration, Traditions Day, Grandparents Day, STEAM Night, All-School Musical, Field Day, End of the Year Picnic/Video, and grade-specific field trips.
