Dear Westchester Families,
On behalf of the Westchester Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), let me welcome you to the PTO webpage. My name is Kary Mangers and I’m ready to have an awesome year as your PTO President, but as everyone knows, this is not a one or even a two-person job. There are so many examples already of people volunteering to help and that is what is going to make this a great year. Let me tell you why I’m in the position I am. My husband, Doug and I have three children, two here at Westchester, Brayden in 5th and Alayna in 2nd and then our oldest, Alexa in 7th at NKMS. All our elementary experience has happened at Westchester. I have enjoyed getting to know our school, its staff and our wonderful families by being involved in the PTO since my oldest was in 1st grade. It has been a great way to know what is going on and to feel part of our community.
As a parent with a child at Westchester, you are automatically a member of the PTO. Our purpose is to aid the students and staff of Westchester Elementary by providing support for their educational and recreational needs and to promote open communication and foster relationships between the administration, staff, parents, students and the community; something we could not accomplish without parent participation. We would love for you to show your support by participating in the events and activities planned throughout the year. Your participation might be that of a committee member, volunteer, or as an attendee. Whatever level of participation you select, your time and involvement will certainly be appreciated.
The Westchester PTO plans and sponsors several events during the year. Please see the link labeled “PTO Calendar 2019-20” for a list of dates for the school year. We would love to have you join us at each and every event! You can also click on the links labeled “PTO Board 2019-2020” and “Westchester 101” to see a list of the current committee members and a description of the committees’ responsibilities. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in volunteering.
We are all parents trying to give our kids the best educational and social experience possible. This could not happen without the donation of time and resources from all of you. Your additional to this community can help us continue having the amazing family we do at Westchester, from the staff to the parents to our kids.
Thank you for all that you do for our WE Wild Cats! I am looking forward to a year of growth and excitement in learning as we work together!
