Why are schools being closed?
In an effort to help prevent the spread of COVID 19, all St. Louis County, St. Louis City and St. Charles County School Districts are closed through April 22.
In the Kirkwood School District, the closure includes all before and after-school activities, athletics and the Kirkwood Early Childhood Center.
While the decision to close our school district was extremely difficult, we believe it is in the best interest of our students, families and community. The decision was made in consultation with local health organizations, local government, and other area school districts.

Does KHS anticipate canceling prom/graduation ceremonies?
All school activities are canceled through April 22. We will continue to evaluate the situation and communicate any changes to events and school services as they become available.
Prom/Graduation- Mr. Townsend, Mr. Fisch, and Mrs. Schwalbert are working hard to try and make the Class of 2020 end of year events continue in some form. We know this is an extremely difficult time for our seniors, and we are here to support you as we navigate through this difficult time.
Unfortunately, we are not able to hold a traditional Prom. Our goal is to still hold Prom, but it will NOT be at the Marriott Grand St. Louis on April 17th. We will keep you up to date on a possible make-up date and place.
Graduation-we WILL have a Graduation. Currently, we are still scheduled to have Graduation on May 9th at Chaifetz Arena. If that date is postponed, please keep the Saturdays of June 13th and June 20th open on your calendar. We have secured Chaifetz on these Saturdays as a back-up plan. If these dates don't work we will look at possibly a different date/venue.....yes we may go "back to the old days" and have it in the stadium at Kirkwood High School.
We already miss our Seniors and we are hopeful we get to see everyone as soon as possible. Until then stay healthy and make sure you are staying up with your class work.
