Looking to the Future

The Kirkwood School District is hosting a community meeting to provide an update on facility planning efforts and to garner feedback from the community on identified priorities. This is part of ongoing work to generate an updated facility master plan. This process is typically completed every five years to ensure a fiscally responsible approach to improving and maintaining the places where students learn and grow.

“Thanks to the support of our community, we have made significant improvements to all of our schools. As those construction projects conclude, we are focusing on maintaining and improving our facilities to serve students far into the future,” said Dr. David Ulrich, superintendent. “Community input is a fundamental part of this process to ensure we have a comprehensive and updated plan for our facility needs.”

The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9 at the cafeteria of Kirkwood High School. For ease of access to the meeting location, attendees are encouraged to park on the Essex side located at 801 West Essex. The meeting includes an overview of the facility master plan development. There will be an opportunity for attendees to provide feedback on priorities identified through the process so far.

An additional meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 9 at Kirkwood High School. That meeting will focus on reporting out on the results of the efforts to date before the finalization of the report.
