Westchester Robotics Contest Recap
Last weekend, five talented robotics teams from Westchester Elementary competed against 23 other schools at the 3rd Annual 4H Winter VEXIQ Rapid Relay Tournament. Hosted in partnership with Westchester Elementary, the event brought together elementary and middle school teams from across the state, including St. Genevieve, Fredericktown, Park Hills, Kansas City, and St. Louis, all showing off their incredible robots, coding, and driving skills.
Special Recognitions:
Team 63122 C: The Crazy Crackers were honored with the Sportsmanship Award, recognizing their outstanding respect, helpfulness, and positive attitude on and off the field.
Team 63122 A: Diamond Girls, one of our two all-girl teams, won the Design Award for their exceptional approach to engineering, project management, and team organization!
Teams 63122 C: Crazy Crackers and 63122 F: Fighting Fire received Honorable Mentions for being among the few teams with an impressive autonomous program. Their robots ran purely on coding with no manual control.
We're beyond proud of these young innovators for their hard work and creativity in this first tournament of the 24-25 season! A huge thank you to our dedicated coaches Ben Merriman, Cindy Voller, Tanya Brown, Katelyn Hartman-Geier, and Jennifer Ono for guiding these students to success.
