Kirkwood School District Announces Head Coach for Tennis Program

At the regularly-scheduled Kirkwood School District Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, July 21, the Board of Education approved the recommendation of the appointment of Daniel Witt as the next head tennis coach at Kirkwood High School. Witt, a 2014 graduate of Kirkwood High School, has been an assistant coach for the program for the past eight years. Additionally, he has been a coach for Kirkwood Racquetball, a volunteer-run club team.  

“Coach Witt brings both a deep connection to the program and a wealth of experience,” said Correy Nesslage, KHS Athletic Director. “He understands and has first-hand knowledge of the rich tradition of this program, and he is looking forward to putting his own stamp on the program for years to come.”

“I absolutely loved my experience at Kirkwood High School, and I’m thrilled to now have the opportunity to give back to the program as head coach,” said Witt. “I look forward to working with our athletes, building upon the foundation of success in the program, and creating an environment where our players can continue to grow both as athletes and as individuals.”

Witt holds a Bachelor's Degree of Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Masters in Education from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Witt is currently beginning his ninth year teaching at Nipher Middle School.
