Kirkwood High School Student Ryder Byers Achieves Eagle Scout Rank

Kirkwood High School (KHS) freshman Ryder Byers received his Eagle Scout award on March 26, 2025. He is a member of Troop 981 In Kirkwood.

For his Eagle Scout Service Project, Ryder led the design, construction, and installation of new storage units for the Percussion Band Room at Kirkwood High School. His efforts improved access to percussion instruments and enhanced the organization and efficiency of the space for students and staff.

Throughout his years in scouting, Ryder has held several leadership roles, including Quartermaster, Librarian, Troop Guide, and Assistant Patrol Leader. He has earned 22 merit badges, logged over 100 service hours, and participated in more than 25 camping nights. He is also a member of the Order of the Arrow, scouting’s national honor society, and remains actively involved in troop activities and service.

Beyond his involvement in scouting, Ryder is a member of the KHS marching band, Symphonic Band, Brass Choir, Freshman Class Committee and Tri-M Music honor society, and plays on the Kirkwood Lacrosse Varsity and JV Teams.
