Jennifer Moore Named a 2026-27 Regional Teacher of the Year Honoree

Jennifer Moore, Gifted Specialist at Robinson Elementary in the Kirkwood School District, was announced as a 2026-27 Regional Teacher of the Year Honoree. Moore was announced as the Kirkwood School District Teacher of the Year in March, which made her eligible for the regional award. 

“Jenn Moore represents the very best of Kirkwood, and we are incredibly proud to celebrate her as a regional honoree," said Dr. Ken Roumpos, Superintendent. "Whether she is mentoring future leaders or sharing her expertise on a national stage, Jenn’s passion and excellence shines through in everything she does."

Moore is one of ten regional teachers of the year from the St. Louis area. Regional honorees will submit their applications to the Missouri State Teacher of the Year program. The Department of Secondary and Elementary Education (DESE) will then select a Missouri Teacher of the Year in October 2026.

The Teacher of the Year program recognizes and honors the contributions of the classroom teacher as no one has a greater impact on the education of a child than a teacher who creates a learning environment where children flourish and grow. The mission of the Missouri Teacher of the Year program is to honor, promote and celebrate excellence in the teaching profession.
