Board of Education Hosts Fall Awards and Honors Ceremony
Last night, the KSD Board of Education held an awards and honors ceremony to recognize some of the outstanding accomplishments of students and staff. The ceremony is held three times a year. “You all are part of what makes the Kirkwood School District so wonderful,” said Judy Moticka, Board Vice President at the closing of the ceremony. “Evenings like this remind me of how lucky we are to be a part of the Kirkwood School District.”

Awardees were:
- Members of the Boys Track and Field Team for earning second place at the 2024 State Championships. Individual athletes who placed at the meet were also recognized, including: Joseph Snyder, who placed 2nd in the 800 Meter Run. Graham Stevener placed 3rd; Graham Stevener, who placed second in the 1600 Meter Run, Levi Rowan placed 3rd; Levi Rowan who was the state champion in the 3200 Meter Run; Jacob Poole, who placed 6th place in the Pole Vault; Khalani Barry, who placed 5th in the triple jump; Zyan Royal, Evan Marion, Chris Potter and Jacob Eberhart, who earned 8th in the 4X100 Meter Relay; Joe Snyder, Levi Rowan, Peyton Ferkel and Graham Stevener, who earned third place in the 4x800 Meter Relay.
- Members of the Girls Track and Field Team who placed at state championships were Josie Baker, who earned third place in the 800 meter run and 2nd place in the 1600 meter run. Katie Klein, who earned 8th place in the 3200 meter run.
- KHS sophomore Amelia Bartin (not pictured), who received her Eagle Scout award on August 7.
- KSD Nurses Meghan Stemmerman (Nipher), Elizabeth Cresswell (Tillman) and Erin Rimkus (KHS, not pictured) who recently earned their Nationally Certified School Nurse Certification.
