The application period is now closed.

The Kirkwood School District Foundation Named Award Scholarship Program applications are processed via an online Application Form. Scholarship applications are received through Kaleidoscope, a secure, cloud-based scholarship management program. Applications for the 2026 Awards will open Winter 2026.

Review the Named Award Scholarship Descriptions before starting your application.

*An application will not be considered complete unless all three steps below are completed and the required documentation is received. Please allow yourself plenty of time to complete the application, to avoid last-minute surprises.*

1. Scholarship Application: New in 2024, there will be ONE online application to be considered for all awards. Qualifying questions in the application will determine for which awards you qualify. Please complete them thoroughly and thoughtfully. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

2. Supporting Documentation: The following documents must be uploaded to the application. If you cannot upload your documents, please inform us at: namedawards@kirkwoodfoundation.org

1) Unofficial transcript

2) Resume/CV

3) Personal Essay. Please include why you are qualified for the specific award(s) for which you are applying. ***Note: If you are applying for the Herb Jones Memorial Scholarship and/or the Kirkwood Teachers of Color Scholarship, additional essay(s) will be required and must be completed prior to moving forward in the application process.***

When you have completed your application, press "Submit", and you will automatically be enrolled for consideration into the scholarship(s) for which you qualify and choose to apply.

The KSDF Board of Directors reviews all applications after the applications window closes and selects students to move on to the interview round. Applicants selected for an interview will be notified by the Named Awards Committee and then contacted by the guidance counseling office to schedule their interview. If not selected students will also be notified.

Interviews are 15 minutes long and take place over two days at Kirkwood High School.

Winners will be selected from the interviewees and notified via email.
