STEAMfest Upcoming Dates

The district STEAMfest Science Fair took place on Monday February 9, 2026 from 5:00-7:30 p.m. at Kirkwood High School.

Introduction

STEAMfest is the Kirkwood School District’s science fair. Participants from all elementary, middle and high school grade levels can participate to explore topics in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.

Interested in submitting a project? Participation can be just for fun, or students can choose for their project to be scored/graded and can apply to the Academy of Science K-12 Regional St. Louis

Science Fair after the district wide event.

What to Expect the Day of the Science Fair

• The Science Fair is held at Kirkwood High School, 800 Dougherty Ferry Rd.

• Projects are turned in to Kirkwood High School before the day of the fair.

• Projects are displayed in classrooms and are grouped by grade level

• Additional hands-on STEAM activities will be set up for everyone to enjoy.

• Participants will not present their project. Scoring will be based on what can be viewed.

You do not have to submit a project to attend. Participants, families and community members are all invited to join us at STEAMfest!

Regional Science Fair, Academy of Science St. Louis

The Academy of Science - St. Louis Science Fair is the premier Science Fair in St. Louis. Inquiry-based learning at its best - St. Louis students follow their passion as they explore the world they live in.

STEAMfest is designed to align with the requirements of the Academy of Science K-12 Regional St. Louis Science Fair. This will allow for an easier transition if a student decides to submit their project to the regional event. Projects are submitted to the Regional St. Louis Science Fair on an individual basis, but please reach out if you need any assistance from the Kirkwood STEAMfest team.
