Understanding Benchmark Results
Understanding Benchmark Screening Results
The Kirkwood School District uses a range of informal and formal assessments to determine the instructional strength and needs of students, and thus guide how we proceed in supporting their learning. Benchmark assessments are important measures used to assess learning, growth, and potential risk for future academic success. FastBridge assessments are one of several pieces of information we use to inform conversations about possible supports and interventions, almost always within the broader context of additional data and/or classroom-based information collected by teachers.
When looking at individual student results, KSD typically focuses on the Percentile-at-Nation score. Scores within the 25th-75th percentile represent the average range. Scores in the green range (lime green, kelly green, and dark green) are average to above average. Scores in the blue ranges are above average, and scores in the yellow and red ranges are below average.
