• Information Specific to Fall 2022

    Any student enrolled in the Kirkwood School District who was also enrolled as a full-time student in the previous semester can opt to take courses virtually through a MOCAP-approved vendor, in lieu of in-person learning through the district.  Launch is the preferred vendor for KSD, given past experiences for our students and a positive working relationship with their program.

    Launch operates in conjunction with the Springfield Public Schools calendar, with Fall classes starting on Monday, August 22.  Visit the Launch website for additional important dates.

    Students at Kirkwood High School are encouraged to contact your grade level guidance counselor with questions about virtual learning.  Some courses at KHS are available online through the Pioneer eLearning Academy, taught via Schoology by Kirkwood teachers.

    The Launch Cares counseling team is hosting Back to School orientation sessions for all families. This live webinar will serve as a parent orientation and is designed to help Launch students, parents and families start their 2022 virtual school year strong! Attendees will learn more about Launch, have the opportunity to ask Launch-related questions and learn tips and tricks for how to be successful in our courses. All attendees will be sent a zoom link for the open house on the day before the event.     Launch has launched a Parent Portal, their all-new feature for parents to stay up to date on their students’ progress in Launch virtual classes.  In the Parent Portal, guardians are able to see an overview of their students’ current grades and have access to quick links to navigate to the Canvas page for each course. Parents are also able to find guides and resources for supporting their virtual students, see a schedule of upcoming parent webinars presented by our very own National Board certified Launch counselors, and sign up to receive newsletters to stay up to date on all things Launch. Directions for signing up for a Launch Parent Portal account will be included with your child's Launch enrollment report.
