On Monday, May 11, 2020, the Board of Education held a virtual work session. Bond architects presented the first draft of a vignette and site plan for the KSD new elementary school if Proposition S passes. The full video can be found online (click).

If Prop S is approved, committees of board members, staff, parents, students, and community members will be formed to provide feedback on the inside and outside design of the school to ensure the school is designed to enhance the learning environment for our students.

ITEM 7 – APPROVAL TO AWARD CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT FIRM
Mr. Russ Leary, director of buildings and grounds, presented information to the Board regarding bids for a construction manager. A motion was made by Pangborn and seconded by Boyko to award the bid to Navigate Building Solutions, in the amount of 1,852,400.00 including all fees and costs. Mr. Leary responded to questions and comments from the Board. The motion carried 7-0.
ITEM 8 – APPROVAL TO AWARD CONTRACT FOR ARCHITECT 7
Ms. Tricia Horton, special projects manager, presented information regarding RFQ’s for a Prop S architect. A motion was made by Andrews and seconded by Pangborn to award the following teams for each project:
Bond Architects – new elementary school on the district-owned Lindeman property
Archimages – NKMS renovations and the maintenance facility additions and renovations
Ittner Architects – KHS addition and renovations, Nipher addition and Tillman new library and
Incite Design Studio – NGL and KECC secure entrances
Ms. Horton responded to questions and comments from the Board. The motion carried 7-0.
