Food assistance is being set up and will begin on Tuesday, March 24. We are partnering with KirkCare, the Kirkwood School District Foundation and other food pantries to assist in the effort.
STUDENTS in NEED
KSD for ALL students in need of food assistance, please complete this online form.
Students participating in the VICC Program or who live in the Riverview Gardens or Normandy School Districts will receive direct communication on how to access food assistance.
FAMILIES in NEED
Families who reside in the KSD attendance area, call KirkCare at 314.965.0406 or kirkcare.org if you need family assistance.
Families who reside in the city of St. Louis, Riverview Gardens or Normandy School District will receive direct communication on how to obtain food assistance.
TO DONATE TO THE EFFORT
Online monetary donations are being accepted to purchase needed items. All donations will only be used for this effort and will be accepted through the Kirkwood School District Foundation online donation portal.
KirkCare is collecting items: The primary food items needed are canned meats, stews, hearty soups, fruits, pasta, cereal, protein bars, dessert mixes, paper products and cleaning supplies. A shopping list is located on the website kirkcare.org. food donation drop off sites at:
- Webster Hills United Methodist Christian Life Center - 1333 W. Lockwood Road (intersection of Berry Rd & Lockwood)
- Fresh Thyme Market - 1018 North Kirkwood Road (intersection of Manchester & Kirkwood Road)
- Kirkwood Train Station ( outside red box on east side of station)
Kirkwood United Methodist Church is also accepting donations from 9 am to 3 pm (Monday thru Thursday) at 201 W. Adams. A dropbox is available, they are accepting the same type of donations as listed above. KUMC serves KSD attendance area as well as partners in the City of St. Louis.
