    Embrace Race

    • Embrace Race

      Who is EmbraceRace?
EmbraceRace is a multiracial community of parents, teachers, experts, and other caring adults who support each other to meet the challenges that race poses to our children, families, and communities. We welcome your participation.

      How EmbraceRace?
At EmbraceRace, we identify, organize – and, as needed, create – the tools, resources, discussion spaces, and networks we need to meet 4 goals:
      · Nurture resilience in children of color
      · Nurture inclusive, empathetic children of all stripes
      · Raise kids who think critically about racial inequity
      · Support a movement of kid and adult racial justice advocates for all children

    For the Sake of All

    • For the Sake of All

Our mission of eliminating racial inequalities and improving the health of all people is driven by five core values that serve as the foundation for our work.

      Health-Focused
For the Sake of All believes health is essential to well-being and drives action to address the health gaps in our community.

      Universal
For the Sake of All directs policy changes designed to improve the lives of all residents of the City of St. Louis and St. Louis County.

      Backed By Research
For the Sake of All uses local data and new and existing research on health, education, economics, and housing to offer evidence-based solutions that define several key areas of focus.

      Engaging
For the Sake of All uses a strategic approach to communicate directly with multiple audiences. We regularly engage with policy makers, business leaders, faith organizations, community members, and the media.

      Action-Oriented
For the Sake of All has developed toolkits, action plans, and strategy groups to focus the community response.

    Raising Conscious Children

      Raising Race Conscious Children

Welcome to Raising Race Conscious Children, a resource to support adults who are trying to talk about race with young children. The goals of these conversations are to dismantle the color-blind framework and prepare young people to work toward racial justice. If we commit to collectively trying to talk about race with young children, we can lean on one another for support as we, together, envision a world where we actively challenge racism each and every day. Many of the blog's posts are geared toward White people but a community of guest bloggers represent diverse backgrounds and the strategies discussed may be helpful for all.

    We Stories

    • We Stories

      VISION
We envision a St. Louis region where all families, regardless of race, have the opportunity to thrive.

      Mission
We Stories uses the power of children’s literature to create conversation, change and hope in St. Louis, and a stronger, more equitable and inclusive future for all.

      Theory of Change
IF more families are provided with resources to improve the way they engage their children in conversations about race, connections to like-minded families, and opportunities to add their voices to racial justice activism and policy change efforts, THEN the resulting community of families will become a force of positive change, BECAUSE many want to be part of solutions to make St. Louis more equitable but feel unprepared, isolated, or disconnected from action opportunities.
