• Helping at STEAMFest

STEAMFest can't happen without your help.  There are several ways that parents and family members can get involved to help make this a great experience for our Kirkwood kids.  Register to volunteer at Sign Up Genius.

    Before STEAMFest:

Do you have experience in a STEAM-related field?  Why not consider presenting or designing interactive or informational activities for students to experience at STEAMFest?  You could also offer your assistance at your child's home school to mentor other children who need support and assistance with their project displays.

    Thursday, March 5:

     Student Project Check In

Students are allowed to begin bringing their project displays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Assistance with the student check-in area can be done in one- or two-hour blocks.  We will also begin judging Thursday, March 5.  If you would like to act as a judge, it is an easy process and we would be glad to get you started in one- or two-hour blocks.  Please contact Lorna Dick by email or at 314.213.6100 extension 7901.

    Friday, March 6:

    Student Project Check In

Students are allowed to begin bringing their project displays from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Assistance with the student check-in area can be done in one- or two-hour blocks.  We will continue  judging Friday, March 6.  Extra judges are ALWAYS WELCOME.  We can show you the easy process and get you started in one- or two-hour blocks.  Please contact Lorna Dick by email or at 314.213.6100 extension 7901.

    Set Up

Friday evening beginning at 4:00 p.m. we will begin installing signage to direct traffic on Saturday.  We will also be moving judged projects from room SC104 to their appropriate display rooms.  Extra hands could be used.  Please contact Lorna Dick by email or at 314.213.6100 extension 7901.

    At STEAMFest:

    Saturday, March 7:

STEAMFest opens to the public at 1:00 p.m. and runs until 3:00 p.m.  Volunteers are needed at the front desk to pass out information and give directions.  Again, we are looking at a one- or two-hour (or longer) time commitment.  Additional volunteers can assist with passing out award packets.  When the event closes at 3:00 p.m., we can use extra hands for an hour or so to help with taking down signage and restoring the classrooms.

To get involved sign up at Sign Up Genius.  To ask questions about how we can best partner together, please contact Lorna Dick by email or at 314.213.6100 extension 7901.
