February is Kindergarten Registration Month - KSD Introduces Online Registration
Enrollment continues to grow in the Kirkwood School District, which is why it is important to register for kindergarten online in February. Enrolling in February allows time for schools to plan class schedules and placement of classrooms to maintain desired class size guidelines. Children need to be 5 years old by August 1, 2019, to attend kindergarten for the 2019-20 school year.
Please review our Student Registration Checklist on the website for important documents prior to starting the online enrollment process. If have questions, please visit the Frequently Asked Questions page.
A valid email address is required to begin the online enrollment process. If you do not have an email address you should contact the elementary school in which the attendance area you reside for an appointment to register in person.
Once you have gathered the required information, please watch this six-minute video from Infinite Campus about online registration.
After you have gathered the required information and watched the video, you are ready to register your child on the Infinite Campus Online Registration website.
Please note, for online registration, it is recommended that a laptop computer, desktop computer or tablet device be used to complete your child's registration. Registration using a smartphone is not recommended. Families, please make sure pop-up blockers are disabled, prior to beginning the online application process.
If you do not have internet access or a home computer, you can register online at any of our schools using a kiosk computer in the front office designated specifically for this use. The main offices of all KSD elementary schools are open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4:00 p.m. excluding dates the District is closed.
There are certain situations with which a family can not complete the online registration process. They include: a contract on a house or a lease agreement, but not occupancy of the residence; your name is not on your lease agreement or you do not own your home; your child is not living with a parent or court-appointed guardian; you have an address in the City of St. Louis and you have not yet been approved to attend Kirkwood through the Voluntary Inter-District Choice Corporation (VICC); or; you have a foster child, foreign exchange student or are currently displaced. If any of these situations pertain to you, please contact the Office of Student Services at 314-213-6105 to schedule an appointment.
“Completing kindergarten registration in February allows our students, families, and schools to be prepared for a successful school year,” said Dr. Michele Condon, superintendent of schools. “Last year, we enrolled 441 kindergarten students, one of the largest classes in the last decade. Many of our schools schedule special events for students entering kindergarten to get to know our students and get them acclimated to the school.”
