    Dear Parents and Guests of KHS Graduates,

    On behalf of the staff and administration of Kirkwood High School, I extend my congratulations to you and your senior on his or her anticipated graduation from Kirkwood High School. The commencement ceremony for the Kirkwood Class of 2019 will take place at Chaifetz Arena on the campus of St. Louis University on Saturday, May 11 at 7:00 p.m.

    Graduation is one of the most significant events in the life of your student. We strive to preserve the dignity of the commencement ceremony. Everyone's cooperation and assistance is needed to help ensure that the commencement ceremony is memorable and enjoyable for all of us. Therefore, we ask that you read and follow the guidelines below:

    • Arrive early. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. The processional will begin promptly at 7:00p.m. Parking is located at the intersection of Compton and Olive. There is a $6.00 charge per car for parking in the garage. See map for location. Students need to be at Chaifetz for Graduation Rehearsal at 4:30 p.m. on May 11. There is a handicap drop off lane on Compton for attendees needing assistance.

    • Photographs. There will be a professional photographer at the ceremony who will photograph students as they receive their diplomas and again when they walk off the stage. Your student will receive information about ordering photos online in the graduation packet.

    • Keep noise to a minimum. Noisemakers and balloons are NOT allowed in the arena and are inappropriate for this occasion. Please provide the respect our students deserve by keeping noise to a minimum. Chaifetz security has been instructed to remove individuals or groups who make repeated disruptions during the ceremony.

    • Avoid Ieaving your seat during the ceremony. Please keep movement to a minimum. Refreshments will be sold for one hour prior to the ceremony. Restrooms will be open to guests during the ceremony.

    • Be respectful of the security staff. Guests are not allowed on the floor where graduates are seated until after the ceremony. There will be security staff working to make this ceremony safe and orderly.

    • Graduation Tickets. Tickets are required for entry into Chaifetz Arena. Your student will be given a packet of 10 tickets on Senior's Last Day and Check Out on May 8th. Should you need additional tickets, please alert Julie Constant and she will accommodate your request.

    • After Graduation Party. Tickets are on sale now! The cost is $50.00. Tickets can be purchased through the 12th Grade Office or directly online at the Class of 2019 page on the KHS website.
