    On the morning of the event, please check in with the Kirkwood PAT parent educator at the pavilion (in back).  She will have on a red shirt and be holding a clipboard.

    This is a 2 part workshop!

    Part 1 (1/11) - Parents will have better understanding about their child's behavior, why behaviors stick around, learn a few strategies to help as well as manage crisis.  Alison Davis, Love & Logic instructor, will empower parents with concepts from Love & Logic, The Whole Brain Child and How to Talk So Little Kids Will Listen.

    Part 2 (2/1) - Parents will have an opportunity to review concepts and to share success stories as well as receive guidance toward understanding and implementing strategies.

“Baby Blues” and Beyond: What New and Experienced Parents Need to Know

    Where:  Lindbergh Early Childhood Center (4814 South Lindbergh Blvd.- on the Lindbergh High School Campus)

    Speaker: Erin Poniewaz, LPC, NCC, Therapist, Mercy Mother Baby Intensive Outpatient Program

    Welcoming a baby is supposed to be a joyous time for new and expectant moms, but can often be impacted by mood swings, sadness and other upsetting symptoms.

    Join us for an open, parent-only discussion about depression and anxiety during pregnancy and after birth. Learn the various warning signs and symptoms of postpartum depression and other related disorders affecting one in five pregnant or postpartum women. We will discuss different treatment options, the community resources available and how we can best support these women and families to ensure everyone is getting the care they need and deserve.

Family Yoga Night - Frozen!

    We are headed to the magical kingdom Arendelle, where we will experience a Frozen themed yoga adventure. We will begin the class with PLAY TIME!!  Enjoy this time building your bond with your little ones and meeting some fun families in a space without the distractions of your daily life. Since this class includes all ages, we will go with the flow. Breathing techniques are utilized throughout class to teach everyone how to be more mindful and learn how to use their breath to relax when they are upset, angry, or afraid. FUN yoga poses are offered through developmentally age-appropriate stories, games, books, songs, and partner poses.

    No prior experience in yoga needed for big yogis nor little yogis!! Please wear comfortable clothes and bring your mat. There will be extra yoga mats if needed. 

    When: Thursday, 1/23/20, 6:30-7:30 PM

    Join us as Stephanie Kane, Rockwood Parents as Teachers Parent Educator and Supervisor, discusses the impact of technology on brain development, how and when technology can be used in healthy and effective ways within your family, and how to create a media plan for your family.

    Come prepared to squish, splash, scoop, pour...and maybe get a little messy.  Experience this Kirkwood tradition with all your senses!

    No registration necessary.  

    Diapers will be collected for Kirkwood PAT's Diaper Bank for local children experiencing a diaper need.  Sizes 3-5 most needed.
