Mrs. Michelle Mezyk

Hi!  My name is Michelle Mezyk and I am a Resource Teacher supporting 4th and 5th grade students at Robinson Elementary.  This is my 3rd year of teaching and my 6th year in education overall.  I have two wonderful children; Andrew who is 18 and Amber who is 15.  Both of my kiddos attend Mehlville High School.  I am so thrilled and excited to begin a new journey this year with the most amazing students.

I transitioned to the education field six years ago when I decided to make a career change.  During my transition, I decided to work as a Paraprofessional for three years while pursuing my Master’s Degree in Special Education in the Mehlville School District.  This was an adjustment from my previous jobs where I worked as a Vocational Case Manager and Career Coach.  After working as a Vocational Case Manager for Epworth Children Services, I knew I wanted to work with children who struggled in all aspects of life, including education.   After graduating in December of 2018, I began to apply for teaching positions in special education and was hired to start in the Fall of 2019 with the Kirkwood School District.  The rest is history.  There isn’t anything more gratifying than to watch students achieve their personal goals and know that you were able to be a part of it.

In my spare time, I enjoy walking, reading, spending time with family, and trying local restaurants throughout St. Louis.  I also enjoy binging a good drama or thriller on Netflix.  Most of all, I love spending time with my children.   They are absolutely my greatest gift.
