ROCS Steps

At Robinson we believe all children are capable of solving personal conflicts. We encourage and teach children to solve problems in a constructive and respectful manner by using the R.O.C.S. steps.

Robinson Overcomes Conflict Successfully

  1. Cool down.

  2. Listen and look at each other.

    • No interruptions.
  3. Take turns telling respectfully:

    • What the problem is.
    • How you feel.
    • What you want.
  4. Say what you can do to solve the problem.

  5. Agree on a solution and do it.

This technique was developed by all Robinson students during the 1993-94 school year and currently being used.
