Where am I?
Reponse to Instruction and Interventions
How do we monitor student progress?
While we monitor student progress constatnly, and through multiplemeasures, three times a year, we give every student at Robinson a few quick assessments that we refer to as "benchmarks." We consider this benchmarking to be a well check for all of our students. Just as we take our kids to the pediatrician for those yearly check ups, benchmarking gives us a picture of how our students are responding to our instruction and any interventions a student is receiving.
How is benchmarking data used?
Teachers use benchmarking data to inform their differentiation in the classroom and teachers who provide interventions to students use benchmarking to identify children early who may need a little boost with a skill. Children who receive these boosts, or interventions, have their porgress monitored weekly or bi-monthly. Benchmarking against national norms in the Fall, Winter and Spring is a great way for us to keep our fingers on the pulse of your student's progress.
