Character Education- Character Plus

Where am I?

Character Education Program

Our Goal

The Kirkwood R-7 School District believes that character education blends daily experiences with personal, social and academic development. As stated in an African proverb "It takes the whole village to raise a child." It is our goal that the Character Education Program will assist Kirkwod R-7 learners to become assets to society by acquiring the following core beliefs and character traits: cooperation, honesty, citizenship, responsibility, respect, decision-making and self-discipline.

Our Mission

We believe that, within the cultural diversity of schools, there is a core set of beliefs and character traits that we share. The personal responsibility education program in the Kirkwood School District emphasizes the development of these personal qualities in learning (birth-twelfth grade) so that students become contributing citizens in their schools, families, workplace and communities.

Visit our UNITE website for current information about character education and diversity as well as service learning activities in our Kirkwood schools.

The Kirkwood School District is an active member of Character Plus in St. Louis County.
