Public School Choice - Updated August 8, 2011


The Kirkwood School District has three elementary buildings that qualify for Title I funding.  Under the Federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB), Title I schools that do not meet adequate yearly progress two years in a row, must offer a school choice option.  This option is available to all parents whose child attends a Title I School in School Improvement the first year and every year the building is in School Improvement Status.  Two of the three elementary schools were in School Improvement Status Level I (delayed) during the 2009-10 school year.  The District did not have any schools in school improvement in the 2010-2011 school year.

The district has one school in school improvement for the 2011-2012 school year.  Please review the information below:

Under the Federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB), this option of after-school tutoring by an approved provider is available to parents of eligible children that attend a Title I School Improvement Level 2, and every year thereafter the building is in School Improvement Status.  Currently, the Kirkwood School District does NOT have any schools in School Improvement Status Level 2.
