Emergency Preparedness
Where am I?
Students are safer in school than in any other place except their homes. Still, we recognize the potential threats to the safety of children attending school and school-related activities, which is why emergency preparedness and prevention is a top priority in the Kirkwood School District.
The district works closely with local law enforcement, the fire marshal, medical personnel, teachers, school resource officers, and building administrators to assist every building in developing and conducting safety drills and updating crisis communication plans.
The School will:
- Maintain the Kirkwood Crisis Response Manual
- Conduct routine safety drills
- Provide prevention training to staff and students
Parents should:
- Provide updated emergency contact information to the school
- Notify the school of any questions, concerns or rumors related to school safety
