Crisis Communications

Where am I?

The School will:

It is each school’s responsibility to maintain a trained safety team which will respond to building safety or crisis situations. The school safety team is responsible for immediate response to any medical emergencies, building evacuation, assessment of safety of building if necessary, implementing emergency procedures as needed, and notifying the Building Emergency Response Team (BERT) as well as other district personnel and other authorities. The school safety team will also assist emergency authorities as needed.

Use the autodial system to notify parents of a crisis situation Post information on the district's website Utilize mass communication (television and radio) to notify parents and community members

Parents should:

Parents should stay near a telephone. While your first inclination will be to go to the school, the school will be trying to contact you by telephone. For example, if your child has been transportated to a hospital, the school will telephone you to give you the details. If you do come to the school during a crisis situation, emergency personnel or staff will direct you to a parent waiting area.

The school will also provide information to the mass media.
