Media Coverage
Notification of Media Coverage
Because of its excellent reputation and innovative programs, the Kirkwood School District is often the focus of media attention. Throughout the school year, reporters for television, radio, newspapers, or other media outlets may visit schools to cover stories as part of the local news or as features that highlight school activities and special events.
If a reporter is interested in visiting a school, a community relations staff member should be available to assist in arranging a visit to ensure staff and students are available and the educational process is not disrupted. Ginger Fletcher, 314-213-6102 or 314-600-7773.
Student Interviews and Photographs
The Kirkwood School District is in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). The community affairs office is responsible for ensuring permission from parents has been obtained prior to photographing or interviewing any student under the age of 18, which is why reporters and school officials should contact the community affairs office prior to scheduling an interview or photo opportunity.
