NKMS Welcomes Author Sherri L. Smith

Sherri L. Smith visited North Kirkwood Middle School on Friday, February 26th as part of the author series of speakers organized by NKMS Librarian, Barry Crook. Smith is the author of four young adult novels: Flygirl; Sparrow; Hot, Sour, Salty, Sweet; and Lucy the Giant. She captivated the students, sharing her experiences as a writer, talking about where her inspiration comes from, and how she makes her characters come alive. Ms. Smith currently lives in Los Angeles and is working on her next novel.
