Three Kirkwood Schools to present "Big Check" to American Red Cross for Haiti Relief

February 04, 2010

Three Kirkwood School District schools—North Kirkwood Middle School, Keysor Elementary School and Robinson Elementary School—conducted coin drives for the American Red Cross. Collectively, the schools raised nearly $9,000.

Students representing all three schools, along with their principals and teachers, will present Deane Adam of the American Red Cross with a “big check” on Friday, Feb. 5, 10:30 a.m., during a special presentation at North Kirkwood Middle School.

Kirkwood students, staff and parents in the K-12 schools throughout the district have been participating in service-learning projects to learn more about Haiti as they raise funds for relief efforts. The schools are donating funds to various organizations including the American Red Cross, Doctors without Borders, Meds & Food for Kids, and Help for Haiti.
