Homework assignments are an important and integral part of the sixth grade curriculum. Assignments are given for many reasons: to extend the practice of skills, review material, extend classroom learning, prepare for classroom discussion, practice critical thinking skills independently, create dialog between students and family, or to complete a project.

All sixth grade students at NKMS are expected to complete all homework on time. Working together to build a routine for homework into a student's daily schedule helps him/her to become organized and responsible. Students should expect an average of an hour of homework each night. Students who are absent from school will have the number of days they were absent to make up the work.

Having and completing homework helps to ensure that our students receive the word class education they deserve.
