Where am I?

Character Education

Nipher Middle School is dedicated to building students of character. In order to achieve this goal, staff and students develop and implement meaningful learning opportunities for students to grow in their character. The focus of these opportunities are the six character traits of: self-control, respect, responsibility, perserverance, honesty, and empathy. Additionally, Nipher is committed to growing a learning community that develops a sense of belonging for all.

Self-control

The ability to control one's emotions and impulses; self-command.
(restraint, composure, poise)

Honesty

Honesty occurs when people tell the truth. Honesty is also avoiding behavior such as stealing or cheating.
(integrity, truthfulness, sincerity)

Empathy

A feeling of concern and understanding for another's situation or feelings by remembering being in a similar situation.
(compassion, understanding, caring)

Responsibility

A person’s attempt to meet the expectations others have of them.
(duty, trustworthiness, obligation)

Respect

Thoughtfulness for self and others.
(value, appreciate, cherish)

Perseverance

Constant persistence of a goal.
(doggedness, determination , persistance)
