Where am I?

Dear KHS Student:

Before you know it, we will return to KHS for the ’08-’09 school year. The improvement to our school facility has continued with a very busy summer of construction. In addition to our year old science building, we have completed our new gym, renovated our small gym, (Wait until you see it!) and have finished the infrastructure upgrade to our FACS kitchen and the entire south end of our campus. In addition, our dynamic teaching staff has been busy preparing for the year.

At KHS our core values do not change from year to year. We believe that success at our school begins with positive relationships which are based on trust and respect for ourselves, for others, and for our school. We also believe that individual success at KHS is not determined by parents or  teachers. Your commitment, your hard work and your dedication are the factors which will ultimately lead to your success as a KHS student. We are here to encourage you and support you as you find and develop your passion.

This year, Orientation Day for freshmen and students who are new to KHS will be held on August 18, from 8-11:30 am. We will begin promptly at 8:00 am in the Varsity Gym. At the conclusion of our meeting, freshmen students will follow their schedules and then have a lunch provided by the school. National Honor Society students will provide tours for all new students.

The first day of school for all of us will be on August 19. We begin at 7:50 a.m. and all seven periods will meet on that day. Please arrive on time and be ready to learn. Those seniors who have late arrival need to be here for the start of second hour at 8:44.

P.S. Remember that fall sports begin practices on August 11.
