KHS Social Justice Club invites Community to Third Annual Social Justice Festival at Kirkwood’s Station Plaza on May 10
May 09, 2008
The Kirkwood High School Social Justice Club is sponsoring the Third Annual Social Justice Festival on Saturday, May 10, from 4 to 10 p.m. at Station Plaza in downtown Kirkwood. Students and staff from the Kirkwood School District will be performing in a variety of acts ranging from full bands, dancing, juggling and stand-up comedy.
According to Tom Gaither-Ganim, education support counselor and club sponsor, the students coordinated the event with Station Plaza with the goal of bringing people together to have fun. Community members are invited to bring their lawn chairs and join in the festivities.
The KHS Social Justice Club was organized by students at the high school three years ago to promote unity and tolerance. The club serves as a forum to discuss tolerance issues and ways to bring people together in a peaceful, friendly way.
