Where am I?

  • Come see the extraordinary work of the AP Art students! Students will have one of their best quality works in a show during the month of April at the Train Station in downtown Kirkwood.  We invite everyone to join us at the Train Station for an Opening Reception on Thursday, April 7th from 5:30 - 7:00pm (posted 3/15/11).

 

  • Charlie
    Houska Exhibit Comes to KHS Dean Gallery! The National Art Honor Society of Kirkwood will be hosting St. Louis artist, Charlie Houska in the John Dean Gallery from February 23 thru March 18, 2011. There will be an artist talk and opening reception on Wednesday, February 23, 2010 from 3:00 - 4:00pm. Charlie is a painter and graphic designer who owns a gallery in the Central West End. He has been involved in several public art projects working with teens. Charlie Houska likes to call his colorful, playful works "happy art". Please join us in welcoming Charlie to KHS.   • William Woods Invite Artistic Students to Campus Visit Friday, February 25, 2011. Any students interested in an art, music, theatre career or William Woods University, should register for an On Campus Prospective Student Visit & Tour by calling (800)995-3159 ext. 1 or online at WilliamWoods.edu/Visit by 2/18/11. Get an in depth look at the visual, performing, and communication arts programs, learn about scholarships and financial aid, participate in hands on activities along side WWU students and faculty, enjoy a theatre production, and any HS Senior may present a portfolio or audition for a visual or performing arts scholarship! (posted 1/31/11).


  • Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) will be coming to speak to art students on Thursday, 11/18/10 during 2nd hour (9am-9:55am) in Mrs. Foster's room SA-4. Any students interested in an art career or SCAD, should get a pass from their art teacher at least one day prior (posted 11/8/10).



  • NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY MEETINGS-Wednesday, November 10, 2010 in Room SA-1, 2:50-3:30 pm.- Talk about our latest fundraiser (Pumpkin Carving), what we want to do with this money (field trips), and our Holiday Meeting in December. Bring your $3 dues

    for NAHS to officially be a member!

    Wednesday, December 1, 2010 in Room SA-1, 2:50-3:30 pm.- Holiday Meeting! Come make holiday art for fun and enjoy cookies and other treats. Bring your $3 dues for NAHS to officially be a member! (posted 11/8/10).

     

    NEXT MEETING FOR NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY- October 20, '11 in SA-1 at 2:50- Talk about our Pumpkin Carving event and Yearbook Pictures to be taken at 3:15pm(posted 9/23/10).

 

  • The Meramec campus is also host Art Portfolio Night from 4:30-6 p.m. on October 18. Area high school students who are interested in fine art, graphic design, digital photography and other art related fields will be able to discuss programs and opportunities with STLCC faculty and faculty from other institutions in the St. Louis area. Advice will be provided on portfolio preparation and review. The Meramec campus is located at 11333 Big Bend Rd. in Kirkwood, MO.   • Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI) will be coming to speak to art students on Wednesday, 9/15/10 during 6th hour (12:40am-1:30pm) in Mrs. Grimes' room SA-1. Any students interested in an art career or KCAI, should get a pass from Mrs. Grimes one day prior (posted 8/31/10).

 

  • Memphis College of Art & Design (MCAD) will be coming to speak to art students on Thurs. 10/14/10 during 5th hour (11am-12pm) in Mrs. Foster's room SA-4. Any students interested in an art career or MCAD, should get a pass from Mrs. Foster one day prior (posted 8/31/10).

 

  • John Dean Art Exhibition and Reception on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 2:50pm-3:50pm. Kirkwood HS Art Department welcomes the public to an opening reception for professional landscape painter, John Dean, who will be showing his recent works in the Art Gallery located in the South Art Building at Kirkwood HS. The Art Gallery is named in honor of John Dean and his devotion to the arts during his career at Kirkwood High School. Art students will meet John Dean and listen to his Gallery Talk the same day during 6th hour (12:40-1:30pm). A light food reception will follow after school starting at 2:50pm, hosted by the National Art Honor Society.
