Art Announcements
Where am I?
- Tuesday -Wednesday, October 25-26, 2011 in Room SA-1, 2:50-4 pm.- Pennies for Pumpkins! Join our annual pumpkin carving party. Bring a pumpkin ready to carve! Clean it out at home and drop it off in the art room so you dont have to carry it around all day. We will carve right after school both days. Choose a small pumpkin and think of an idea how you are going to decorate (last year's pumpkins were too big and a little too creative for our audience). Your pumpkin is a donation to NAHS for the silent auction to be held on Thursday, October 27 during Parent Teacher Conferences. Money raised will go towards gallery opening events, field trips, and supplies for NAHS. Also, bring your $3 dues for NAHS!

- PROFESSIONAL ART WORK OF CBABI BAYOC WILL BE IN THE DEAN GALLERY THE MONTH OF OCTOBER! National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is proud to announce the gallery exhibit of painter, Cbabi Bayoc. Cbabi (pronounced Kuh-bob-bi) Bayoc is an artist who has always known, and lived, his calling: creating art which reflects his love of music and family.
In 1995, Bayoc received his Bachelor’s in Liberal Arts from Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana. Since that time, he has been fortunate enough to more than make a living as an artist; he has wedged himself into the class of artists who receive accolades and acclaim for their work. With his paint brush, pencil and pen, Bayoc has created a career for himself. Bayoc has worked as a caricature artist at Six Flags, an illustrator for Rap Pages Magazine, created CD covers for musicians, and has been commissioned by Coca-Cola, Anheuser-Busch, Harris-Stowe College, and SIDS Resource. For more information, please visit, cbabibayoc.com.
Art students will be able to meet Cbabi and participate in a Gallery Talk on Oct. 5 during 6th hour (1:42pm) outside the John Dean Gallery, located in the South Art Building of Kirkwood High School with NAHS hosting a reception immediately following after school 2:40-3:30pm.
