Food Services Information
BREAKFAST PROGRAM: A variety of breakfast entrées, side choices, 100% fruit juice and milk will be offered daily. Students may select an entrée, 1 or 2 sides and may choose milk.
LUNCH PROGRAM: A variety of entrée choices, fruit and vegetable choices, and milk will be offered daily. Students must select an entrée and 1, 2 or 3 sides and may choose milk.
ALA CARTE PROGRAM: Chartwells offers the “Balanced Choices” program with 50% or more of its ala carte items being a healthier alternative. These items include baked chips, yogurt, fresh salads, reduced fat ice cream, juice bars, bagels, fresh fruit, etc.
Parents/Guardian MUST complete a new application for the free/reduced breakfast and lunch program at the beginning of each school year, and be approved, to be eligible for this school year. Please complete the new application and return it to the school as soon as possible. Applications are available at the school office. Families eligible for free meals through Direct Certification do not have to submit an application. Students approved last year will remain approved at their current status until October 1, 2009. Students who do not have a new, approved application on file after October 1, 2009 will be removed from the program and will pay full student paid meal prices.
The Food Service Department uses the WinSnap accounting system. This program tracks student payment and sales information for the current year. The Parent/Guardian may contact the school Cafeteria Unit Lead to obtain information regarding their student’s account.
•All lines are cashless. Prepayments are to be placed in the Office or Café lock box by 10:00 a.m. Payments received after 10:00 a.m. will be processed on the next day’s business and funds will not be available until the next day.
•Prepayments can be made online through the District Web site: http://www.kirkwoodschools.org/parents/onlinepayments.php 24 hours is required for deposits to be credited to student’s account.
•Checks should be made payable to: KIRKWOOD SCHOOL DISTRICT with the school name, student’s name and account number and amount enclosed in a prepayment envelope.
•Prepayment deposits are recommended weekly or monthly, to avoid negative account balances.
•District policy does not allow any negative student account balances. Any student with a zero balance will be offered a cheese sandwich, fruit & milk until account is paid in full.

Lunch Prices: $2.40 Student Paid, $ .40 Reduced, $.00 Free, $2.85 Adult, and $.50 Milk
The School Lunch Program is operated in accordance with U.S. Department of Agriculture policy which does not permit discrimination because of race, color, sex, age, handicap or national origin.
