Health/Fitness (7415) Grade: 9, 10, 11 12
½ Health Credit Length: 1 Semester

This semester course combines physical fitness activities and classroom sessions. In approximately 1 week blocks, students will participate in fitness activities. Fitness activities will be dependent upon availability of facility/fields. Within the classroom students will study first aid and CPR, stress, drug prevention, human sexuality (including STD’s), exercise prescription, and nutrition.
Human Relations (6315) Grade: 9, 10, 11, 12
½ Health or Prac. Arts Credit Length: 1 Semester

This course allows students to gain an awareness of techniques for improving communications skills in relationships. Students will utilize these communication skills to explore stereotyping, racism, abuse and violence that occur in our society. Along with an in-depth study of human sexuality (the reproductive system, contraception, sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS) students will become aware of alcohol drug abuse and the harmful effects on the mind and body. All of these topics will be examined through research, role play, oral presentations, and class discussion.
