Where am I?
School Nurse
The Keysor School Clinic is located adjacent to the main office and is staffed from 8:00am to 3:50pm each school day.
The school nurse is responsible for the following:
- Verifying that students are properly immunized
- Provides emergency care in cases of accidents or illness
- Promotes a healthy physical and emotional environment for educational growth
- Conducts regular hearing, vision, height, and weight screenings for all students, making referrals for follow-up care when necessary
- Acts as a resource for the classroom, for staff, for the Care Team, and for parents and students with particular health needs
- Supervises the administration of medication and/or medical treatments
- Monitors attendance daily in order to assure the safety of students and to be aware of pattern of communicable illnesses within the school population.
You can assist the school nurse by:
- Keeping students home if they are running a fever, vomiting, and/or seem too sick to benefit from school programs.
- Sharing medical information that might affect your child’s performance at school in any way.
- Notifying her of immunization boosters and the results of physical and dental exams.
- Notifying her of any changes in the information on the student’s emergency card.
